Springbok Captain, Siya Kolisi admits to alcohol abuse

In his official autobiography published by the Sunday Times, Siya Kolisi admits to alcohol abuse during the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.

"Whenever I had time off from practice, I was extremely board and feeling sorry for myself. Various guys were in the same boat and willing to hang out, which we did in bars and pubs. Rachal had flown to England with baby Nick and that was the perfect opportunity to spend time with my family; but I preferred to be out and about with the boys. This was an awful time for my wife, and I was selfish to realize. Rachal got fed up with my behavior and flew home a week early."

In an interview with The Guardian, Springbok Captain; Siya Kolisi mentioned how his wife has assisted him in turning his life around and guided him towards Ben Schoeman (Christian Mentor)

"Siya, you're consistently drinking and fooling around at strip clubs. You regularly post about faith in Christ on social media, but you're lying to yourself and everyone else."

"I opened up to Ben and we spoke deeply. I needed to stop drinking. It was extremely tough at first but I don't miss a single thing. I encourage men to speak out. I know we don't want to appear weak, but you can't carry all that weight; because it can break you."
